Sharing Leader Reives' post on Facebook from the huge celebration in Chicago. Now the real work begins! Here in Chatham County and part of Randolph County, we’re so fortunate that Leader Reives is our representative in the North Carolina House.

NC House Democratic Leader, Robert Reives, took time for some selfies with familiar faces following North Carolina’s 131 votes going to our next President of the United States, Kamala Harris. Here in Chatham County and part of Randolph County, we’re so fortunate that Leader Reives is our representative in the North Carolina House.

Here is his post from Facebook.

Labor Council Meeting

Monday morning

It wasn't easy to get up for our 7 am NC Delegation Breakfast, but it was worth it, though not for the food. We had some terrific speakers (everyone wants to meet the NC Delegation!), including: Mandela Barnes (I was sitting right next to him), Former Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin; Laphonza Butler, US Senator from California; and David Pepper, Former Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party and author of a number of books, including Laboratories of Autocracy and Saving Democracy. I also got to talk to several of our own NC elected officials, including: Robert Reives II, Leader of the NC House of Representatives; Elaine Marshall, our Secretary of State; Justice Anita Earls, Associate Justice of the NC Supreme Court; and NC House Representative Maria Cervania from the 41st District. And I got my floor credentials for today! Stay tuned!

Sunday evening

Rockin' party at the Navy Pier for DNC Delegates. Lots of fun on an incredibly beautiful night. I had a great time meeting and talking politics with smart, dedicated, and really interesting delegates from all over the country. The level of energy and enthusiasm is amazing!

Even more fired up after our NC Delegation Welcome Reception. It's hard not to be when you have such young, dynamic party leaders. And such a terrific, diverse delegation. I had fun talking to someone even older than me (is that possible, you ask?) who was a delegate at the 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 Conventions.
