Following the Chatham County Democratic Convention, on April 15, a convention after-party was held at the Community Engagement Center, and everyone was invited.
During the party, outgoing CCDP officers were honored for their outstanding service during the previous two years and the newly elected officers were recognized by everyone in attendance.
In addition, Becky Loflin was honored for her contributions to CCDP and much to her surprise, was awarded the Order of the Longleaf Pine by Representative Robert Reives and Congresswoman Valerie Foushee for her years of service to the community, especially Habitat for Humanity.
The Order of the Long Leaf Pine is awarded by the Governor to persons for exemplary service to the State of North Carolina and their communities that is above and beyond the call of duty and which has made a significant impact and strengthened North Carolina.
