For nearly three hours on Saturday morning, August 10, a steady stream of students and their parents visited the school supply and book giveaway in Siler City to choose from a wide variety of back-to-school backpacks, supplies, and books to help get the school year off to a great start. The button making machine, popsicles, and book reading for the younger students were all popular bonuses during the event.
Led by Janet Scroggs, 17 volunteers distributed the items that 103 donors had contributed. The approximate value of the items was $7,800. Look for future school supply events so that you can take part as a donor or volunteer.
