When is she coming? What time will it be? Where will she be? How can I get a ticket?
These were just some of the questions swirling around news of Vice President Harris’ visit to Wake Tech’s North Campus in Raleigh. Almost no-one had the connections necessary to get an invitation to the event that was available to only around 250 people.
So of course Vickie Atkinson was there, and she has pictures! Vickie was nice enough to share them with us so that we can see a little of what she saw.
Thanks Vickie!
In her own words . . .
Kamala Harris’s radiant smile was on full display at the rally I attended in Raleigh on Friday (8/16) as she talked about an “opportunity economy.” The crowd in the small venue (about 250 people) was fired up, chanting, “We’re not going back!”
Earlier speeches by Roy Cooper and Josh Stein prepared the ground for Kamala to reveal “A New Way Forward.” She shared her belief that “when the middle class is strong, America is strong” and her personal story of her mother saving for 10 years for the downpayment to buy a house that they moved into when Kamala was a teenager. She also shared that she worked at McDonald’s to earn spending money when she was at Howard University.
It was an uplifting experience and we left vowing to do all we can to get her elected President of the United States!
